Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are over 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.
Rotary Annan & District - supporting our community since 1949!
We celebrated our 75th Anniversary in November 2024.
We meet on alternate Tuesdays at The Anglers in Annan and Solway Lodge in Gretna from 6 - 8 pm.
f Enjoy friendship, fellowship and a meal (although the meal its not compulsory!)
f Get involved in raising funds for local charities/projects and good causes
f Be part of a bigger world picture and help provide assistance when disaster strikes and help the poor improve their lives
f Every Christmas we collect for local charities at Tesco, Annan High Street, Caledonia Park to raise funds for Christmas celebrations for local people
f Lend with Care project of micro loans at Eastriggs Primary - and hopefully other schools with time
f Host the annual Rotary Primary Schools’ Quiz in March, with all schools participating
f Opportunities for young people to participate in Rotary national competitions - Young Writer, Photographer, Chef, Artist, Musician, to name a few
f We have donated to Shelterbox to help those displaced by war, natural disasters.
We also help to raise funds for the eradication of Polio worldwide - END Polio Now. Funds raised by Rotarians around the world are matched by The Bill Gates Foundation. Look out for the displays of crocus around Annan and local schools in the Spring.The crocus are a reminder of the purple mark on a child’s finger when they are immunised
Support our Ragbank at Tesco Annan, which helps raise funds for projects
