Lanercost and Hadrians Wall.
The weather forecast for Saturday was not good. Low temperatures, rain or sleet and high winds. However 23 hardy souls left their comfortable homes and met at Lanercost Bridge for the 6.5 mile walk. It was wet and windy and the picnic lunch had to be taken in the shelter of a stone dyke. However the well planned outing explored new country and the walkers went home with a great feeling of satisfaction.
