Starting at Brydekirk this walk followed the tree lined River Annan down stream. After crossing the Butcherbeck Burn the walkers followed the rough track uphill before taking a path along the top of the wooded river valley. They then descended to the fishermen's shelter at the Black Pool opposite Rabbit Island. They followed the path past Mount Annan farm to reach Landheads.
The weather was beautiful for the time of year and Annan with the Solway and Criffel made a lovely picture. The walkers then took a path down though the woods back to Brydekirk. Although it was a short two hour afternoon walk it attracted forty-five walkers.
