38 walkers enjoyed this fine walk in the woods and hills to the east of Beeswing. The gently ascending walk through woods allowed views both of the nearby Lochaber Loch and Loch Arthur and west across the valley to Lotus Hill. These views augmented by the autumn colours highlighted the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
Although Criffel and the more distant Cumberland hills were hidden by cloud the panorama from the top of Troston Hill (700 ft) over the Nith estuary and the Solway offered more than compensation. A walk that may be reprised in the Spring!
