A problem with the minibus was quickly overcome by the walk organisers when alternative transport was arranged.
The 6 mile walk started from Little Salkeld and proceeded along the attractive wooded banks of the River Eden visiting Lacy's caves which are cut into the sandstone river bank. The weather was not perfect but the short rain shower soon cleared and the sun came out.
The thirty walkers took a route past Addingham Church and crossed fields to reach the leafy lane to the ancient stone circle "Long Meg and her daughters". The walk ended with a welcome stop for tea at The Corn Mill in Little Salkeld.
