Walk 89 Report, Saturday 23 June

Annan Walking Group walk Tarras Water

The final climb onto Whita Hill made Saturday's walk feel more than 8.5 miles.

The 12 stalwarts under took this more challenging walk starting from the Mac Diarmid  Memorial above Langholm. The first 2.5 miles to the summit of Hog Fell was over rough hill ground. The route then took us down onto a path by the Tarras water. At Tarras lodge we walked the road from Newcastleton towards Langholm and then turned off down to Middlemoss farm. We then took the track back up the side of Whita hill to the starting point.

As the weather forecast predicted heavy rain the walkers were dressed in their wet weather gear. Happily the rain did not materialise.
