The Askham Fell walk had had to be cancelled several times because of very bad weather conditions. This time the organisers ensured perfect warm sunny weather for an interesting six mile walk though beautiful countryside. The walk was not strenuous and attracted 48 walkers.
The route was through the village of Askham and a slow easy climb onto Askham Fell which gave a panoramic view over the Western Lake District. From the summit the path wound down though the picturesque village of Helton before following the River Lowther back to Askham.
