Annan Walking Group in the Borders

On another typical Walking Group day 17 members enjoyed a dry, windless and sometimes sunny day in the Border country around Tibbie Shiels.

One group of 11 took to the hills and enjoyed a climb westwards along the Southern Upland Way before descending down Peat Hill to the head of the Loch of the Lowes, then following its southern shore and the flotsam evidence of the flooding of the previous week back to the Inn to be joined there by the others.

The six (five women and one man) decided to walk the length of St Mary's Loch and back again, six and a half miles in all.  The sun was shinning and the Loch was like a mill pond giving spectacular reflections of the surrounding hills in the water. Altogether a fine winter's day out.
