What better way to spend a cold, sunny, Saturday morning than walking up the River Annan to Brydekirk and back.
Thirty nine walkers and two dogs enjoyed the six miles. Though there was an occasional flurry of snow the colours of the countryside stood out in sharp technicolour.
Daffodils and early primroses were prominent and two canoists on the river added human interest to the usual abundance of wild fowl.
Two new walkers were welcomed to the group.
