Distance: Approx.4.5 - 5 miles

 

Walk Time: Approx.3 - 4 hours

 

Walk Description: A circular walk around Drumlanrig estate taking in three of the estate lochs. Walking on forest tracks and a wee bit on road – fairly dry underfoot but maybe the odd muddy spot. Some uphill but not steep.

 

Meeting point: Murray Street car park at 9.15 a.m. Mini -bus available. Covid safety measures apply.

 

Travel: Take A76 Kilmarnock road, go through Thornhill and Carronbridge then take a left after about a mile into the estate grounds. Over the Nith bridge then bear right and carry on up to Drumlanrig Castle. Park in main castle car park (no charge for parking as castle is now closed for season).

Toilets: Public toilets in Thornhill.
