Walk 382 - Sunday 9th February 2020 - Clarencefield

Distance: Approx.5 - 5.5 miles

 

Walk Time: Approx 3 – 3.5 hours

 

Walk Description: A circular walk around Clarencefield and Ruthwell, passing Comlongon Castle, Brow Well, Ruthwell village and church. One stretch likely to be muddy but mainly on quiet roads.

 

Meet / Travel: Murray Street car park at 9.30am. Mini-bus available. Take B724 (Low Road) towards Dumfries. After approx. 6 miles enter Clarencefield village. Parking in McFarlan Hall car park located in middle of village, past the “Farmer’s Arms” pub and on the right.

 

Walk Start Point: 9:50am approx. at McFarlan Hall car park, Clarencefield.

 

Toilets:Toilets at start and finish in village hall. Please bring small donation for use of the village hall facilities.

 

Walkers Dogs: In owners car and on lead.

 

Refreshments: Bring own snacks, lunch and drinks.

 

Equipment: Usual outdoor wear for the time of year.

 

Note: If the weather is inclement the walk can be shortened.
