Walk Time: Approx 2 - 3 hours
Walk Description: The walk begins from the Community Centre in Thornhill, heading along the Main Street, left towards the school and onto the Golf course. We do a circular of the woods then retrace our steps back to Manse road then along Froggy Lane to Dabton Loch, where we do another circular of woods. Back to Thornhill by Defiance Woods. Roads and Tracks.
Meet: Murray Street car park at 9.30am. Mini-bus available. Head on the A75 to Dumfries and at the Cuckoo Bridge roundabout take the A76 to Thornhill. Pass the Pegasus Statue in the middle of the village then take the first right, then left to the Community Centre – it is sign posted.
Walk Starting Point: 10.30am approx. at the Thornhill Community Centre.
Toilets: Toilets at start and finish.
Walkers Dogs: In owners car and on lead during walk.
Refreshments:Bring own snacks, lunch and drinks. As this is the last walk of 2019 it is proposed to have an ‘after walk’ cup of tea/coffee in a local café paid for by AWG.
Equipment: Usual outdoor wear for the conditions and time of year. May be muddy in places.
NOTE: This is an easy walk to cut short if the weather is inclement.
