Walk 124 Report, Sunday 11th January

Annan Walking Group go to Dalbeattie

19 Walkers started out on a not so bright morning for the 5.5 mile walk through Dabeattie Forest. From the Town Wood car park the route taken was on forest roads and paths.

On route we passed a number of disused granite quarries of which the Dalbeattie granite is reputed to be one of the hardest stone available and used worldwide.

After passing a sculptured wood Totem Pole we skirted the lovely Plantain Loch and onward to the granite sculptures before returning to the car park.
