The Tango Extravaganza welcomes top Tango Dance tutors and superb musicians to this year's event ...
tango dance tutors
Liliana Tolomei and Orlando Faria both natives of Buenos Aries, divide their time between bases in Spain and Newcastle, when not teaching around the world.
Liliana spent the summer teaching tango in the US on an innovative programme to roll back the symptoms of degenerative brain disease.
Both are exponents of the modern Milonguero style in addition to being experts in Canyenge, one of the oldest of all forms of tango and which is becoming very popular.
Tanya Marsden and Howard Laing’s dance partnership has
inspired them to move to Cumbria to teach tango throughout
that region and up into south-west Scotland.
Since their move, they have
danced exhibitions around Cumbria
and have set up classes in;
Ireby, Annan, Penrith, Dean
and Whitehaven whilst still
travelling back to Durham to
teach their north-east
contingent.
As Tango Primero they hope
to expand their activities in
the future and look
forward to working in
partnership with those
who wish to promote
dance as part of the
arts and as a vehicle
to enhance the
lives of others.
