Annan Bruce Statue Heritage Project
The Annan Bruce Statue Project was established in late 2007 to advance the acquisition of a statue of King Robert the Bruce to be placed on a vacant plinth on the front of Annan Town Hall.
That ambition is now within sight of being a reality thanks to the generous support of public and private bodies and many individuals.
LATEST NEWS (MAY 2009)
We are delighted to receive a substantial boost to our fundraising from The National Lottery's Awards for All. Whilst the Project is still some £5000 short of its target and fund raising therefore continues this award has allowed us to take forward the Artist's commission and to anticipate the Statue being erected towards the end of this year
We are continuing our fund raising efforts both locally and further afield. Your support would be much appreciated.
The realisation of this ambition will complement the newly created regional Bruce Trail and the improved presentation of the 12th century Motte and Bailey (see Heritage and History). The Brus Stane can also be seen in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall.

Make a Donation!
Our fundraising has raised £35,000 to date with the support of those listed below together with that of many individuals too numerous to mention. It has been a truly remarkable response. Will you please help us with the final push ...
If you can assist please complete the attached form (PDf file, 55kb) and return it to the Project Committee care of Annan Museum (address on Form).
The Artist
The sculptor, Andrew Brown, has been commissioned and the design concept of Bruce as nation builder is now emerging as a striking realisation. Andrew is a young artist currently based in West Sussex but with his roots in Wigtownshire. As can be seen Andrew has carried out a site inspection and the larger than life size figure should be in place by the end of the year. A fitting conclusion to this Year of Homecoming.
The Statue's Location
The photographs below show the Town Hall and the plinth on which the statue will be placed and the Artist carrying out a site inspection.
