Dumfries and Galloway Family History Society

Dumfries and Galloway Family History Society is based at the Family History Research Centre, 9 Glasgow Street, Dumfries (01387 248093).

It holds an extensive library of documents, directories, newspaper indices, CD's and microfiches for the study of family history and the local history of the South West of Scotland.

Resources on microfilm and microfiche include the censuses of 1881, 1891 and 1901, Dumfries Newspapers up to 1900 and Wigtownshire Newspapers for 1833 - 1900.
