Annan Initiative Quilting & Sewing Group

The Group was established in 2000 to foster a shared interest in varied aspects of needlework.

During the past 10 plus years members have enjoyed making many individual pieces and have collectively produced a pictorial view of the town – past and present – which was gifted to the Museum and forms part of its permanent collection; a double bed quilt which was raffled with the proceeds of that and a Coffee Morning, £1,250 in total, being donated to Cancer Research Scotland (see photo); a number of children's quilts and wall hangings which were gifted to the Robins House Childrens' Hospice in Balloch on Loch Lomond, and a second double bed quilt which was also raffled with the proceeds of £1,400 being given to Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland in 2010.

The Group is a member of Annan Initiative and meets twice monthly.
