Kirkpatrick Fleming Primary School, near Annan
Kirkpatrick Fleming Primary School serves the village of Kirkpatrick
Fleming and a catchment area comprising of the hamlets of Chapelknowe,
Hollee and Irvington and the surrounding rural area.
The original school was built in 1881, however, in 1994, the building
was completely refurbished to a very high standard when the former
headmaster's house was incorporated into the project to provide
the present accommodation of 4 spacious classrooms, a general purpose
room, staff administration offices and quarters.
Free transportation to and from school is provided for children
who are under 8 years of age and live 2 or more miles from school,
and for children aged 8 years and over who live 3 or more miles
from school.
In addition to class teachers and a part-time Classroom Assistant,
there are visiting teachers
for
Art, Physical
Education,
Music and Support for Learning.
The school was inspected by HMIe during June 2003.
We aim to provide a caring and stimulating environment in which
children are offered a broad, balanced curriculum, through which
they are encouraged to reach their potential.
