Brydekirk Primary School, by Annan
Brydekirk
Primary School has served the village of Brydekirk and the surrounding
area since around 1890's.
In 1989-1990 Brydekirk Primary was refurbished. The Local Authority provides a taxi service where the walking
distance from home to school, by the shortest safe route, is more
than 2 miles for children under eight years of age, and more
than 3 miles for children who are eight years of age or over.
Brydekirk Primary's Curriculum includes Environmental Studies,
which consists of Science, Social Subjects, Technology, Health
Education and ICT. At Brydekirk we have 6 computers linked to
a network system. Pupils have access to the World Wide Web and
have their on passwords and also have facilities to send and receive
e-mail.
Brydekirk has visiting specialist to teach Art & Design, Music
and Physical Education. We have a regular Support Teacher and visits
from a Classroom Assistant and Learning Support
Teacher.
Pupils are encouraged to engage in a wide range of extra-curricular
activities which include netball, table tennis, swimming, rugby,
cross country running, athletics, Scripture Union Club, Guitar & Recorder
Club, etc.
