Annan
Community Council
Annan
Community Council meets on the second Monday of each month
in the Downies Wynd meeting Room at 7.30pm
Who
are Annan Community Council?
The Community Council has its full
quota of 12 members plus 2 young people from Annan Academy, all
of whom are anxious to represent all areas of the Town.

Well
known to the Annan townspeople, each member is the recipient
of complaints regarding local problems. These are aired at the
monthly meeting and steps are taken to follow issues through
with the aim of resolving problems.
We
are informed
of events and proposal by many bodies e.g. SEPA, the local council
about transport changes etc. and must be given details of all
Planning Applications. We aim to be well informed of proposed
changes and to inform officials of local opinion.
We
are also full members of the Federation of Community Councils
in Annandale and Eskdale.
We
work closely with Dumfries and Galloway Council, the Area Committee
and other community councils in order to act as the go-between,
instigator and the adjudicator where necessary.
Some
of our Community Involvement:
- Supporting
the town Christmas Lights
- Instigators
of the Christmas Lights Switch On involving all the local schools
- Introducing
flower stands in partnership with Commercial Services
- The
Young Citizens Award where Primary 6 and 7 pupils are nominated
by their schools for the difference they have made to the school.
- Remembrance
Day Services
